Circle Lens Review: Geo Tricolor Green

It's time for another circle lens review, and today it is on the lenses from the brand Geo, in their Tricolor series and in the shade green!

My friend bought these for me when she went to Korea but you can get them from any circle lens store like Honey Color, Lens Village, etc.

I took this image from the Honey Color website.

The diameter of these lenses are 14.2mm and they are yearly wear.

On one eye:

The size of the lens isn't that much bigger than my own iris size.

On both eyes:

I have really uneven eyes... It annoys me :/

With eyeliner and falsies:

Top lashes: Eyemazing No. 102
Bottom lashes: Dolly Wink No. 14

Full face:

Foundation: Urban Decay Naked Skin (Shade 2.0) + Too Faced Born This Way (Warm Nude)
Blush: Too Faced Love Flush in the shade Love Hangover
Lipstick: Lime Crime Buffy

Design of lenses: 4/5
I really like the design of these lenses. I think it's quite a natural design and looks really nice on the eyes.

Vividness:3.5/5
These don't show up very vividly since it is very natural looking, but it is a really gorgeous forest green color.

Eye enlargement: 1/5
These lenses aren't meant to enlarge your eyes. They are only slightly bigger than the normal iris. These don't have the thick black ring either.

Naturalness: 5/5
These lenses are so natural, it looks like I was born with green eyes. Really love that about it. If you are new to colored lenses and want to try them, I totally recommend this! There are many other colors too :)

Comfort: 3/5
These were comfortable when I first started wearing them; I could wear them for the whole day. However, they stopped being comfortable after only a month. I can usually wear circle lenses comfortably for 3 months, but not these, sadly. It keeps scratching at my left eye the moment I put it on, but my right eye is okay with its lens though . It only gets worse for my left eye throughout the day. Guess I should dispose them soon :(

To sum up, I really like these lenses because they make my eyes look really nice. I just wish they could have lasted longer than a month. I totally recommend them if you want natural colored eyes.

Hope this was helpful for your lens shopping :)

Favorite NUDE Liquid Lipsticks Part 1

I'll be sharing my favourite nude liquid lipsticks for this post. This is only part 1 because i just KNOW there will be more. Nude lipsticks are my life.

Btw, if you are wondering what those handwritten numbers are on the tube, they are the dates which I opened them. I write them on the lipstick tube so that I will know how old they are. I think it's a good habit to have for all makeup products. :)

1. Buffy Velvetine by Lime Crime
Buffy is my most favourite shade from Lime Crime. It's the perfect nude to me. It is not pink at all. It is a yellowish brown nude on me, with a hint of grey tones in it. I just love this shade. Formula of lime crime velvetines are pretty drying, but nothing too terrible. They smell delicious too.

2. Libra by Black Moon Cosmetics
Another really pretty one. It is a more reddish, slightly orangey nude on me. It looks quite pink in the picture for some reason, but in reality it's not very pink. I absolutely love the formula as well; it's super comfortable and smells so yummy.

3. Celebrity Skin by Jeffree Star Cosmetics
The most pinkish nude lipstick on this list. It's a pinkish, greyish nude on me. Formula is slightly drying but less drying than Lime Crime. Mine is from older batches and does not have the root beer scent, sadly. Kind of smells like chemicals but nothing too overpowering.

4. Bambi by Lonely Planet Co
Lonely Planet co is an etsy shop. They are seriously underrated. They have one of the best liquid lipstick formulas in my opinion. They smell yummy and are sooooo comfortable. They have so many beautiful shades too. I own 8 of their shades. EIGHT!!! I don't own that many shades from any other brand! That's how much I love Lonely Planet.

Anyway, Bambi is a really beautiful slightly orangey brownish nude on me. I think it goes really well with my warm skin tone.

5. Pasadena by Ofra Cosmetics
Ofra is also another company known for their really comfortable liquid lipstick formulas. You won't even feel like there is anything on. Pasadena is my favourite from them. I've tried quite a few shades from them but I never liked any of the others. Pasadena is the only one I like. It is a reddish nude on me. For some reason, it looks pink in the pictures just like the libra picture. My camera seems to like making reds look pink. But it is a beautiful shade either way.

Here is the arm swatch for all of them. Taken by the window under natural sunlight.

From left to right: Buffy by Lime Crime, Libra by Black Moon Cosmetics, Celebrity Skin by Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Bambi by Lonely Planet Co, Pasadena by Ofra Cosmetics

So that's it for now. Rest assured there will be a part 2 someday. I love nude lipsticks too much. I already have them part 2 in my collection, I just haven't started using them yet because I don't want to have too many liquid lipsticks opened at once.

Happy lipstick shopping :D

Battle of brow pencils!

Brows are everything.

If I'm in a rush or if I'm too lazy to do too much makeup, the least I would do would be my brows. I can't go anywhere without my brows filled in. Haha. My brows are pretty bushy to begin with, but the tail end is kind of sparse in comparison to the front part, so drawing on brows to me is just filling in the tail end mainly.

For today, I will be reviewing and comparing 4 different brand of brow pencils. I've used these pencils for months already so I can give a pretty accurate review based on my experience. The 4 brow pencils are Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz, Nyx micro brow pencil, BH cosmetics HD brow pencil and Colourpop brow pencil. I'll review them one by one first and conclude with which I like best for whatever reason. Prices are all in USD.

Here's a picture of me with bare brows. My brows are pretty bushy at the front and gets more sparse towards the tail. The brow on the right is so weirdly shaped though..... I'll need to get it done soon.

Colourpop Brow Pencil

It costs $5 which is really inexpensive. This brow pencil is the creamiest of all 4 which may seem like a good thing at first, but isn't really. Because it is so creamy, I have to be careful when using it. You only have to press really lightly to get the product on your skin. So you can probably imagine, how easy it is to go overboard. If i'm not careful, I end up with 2 really dark arched rectangles above my eyes. Haha. I recommend getting a lighter shade than you normally will get for brows. It really does make your brows dark really fast. Lasts all day on my brows.

Colourpop Black 'N Brown on left brow, Colourpop Bangin' Brunette on right brow.
Bangin' brunette is more brown while black 'n brown is more cool toned.

Nyx Micro Brow Pencil

This costs $10, which isn't that cheap but isn't expensive either. I really like this one. Creamy but not too creamy. Goes on nice and drawing my brows is quite a breeze with this. Lasts all day too. My only gripe with the Nyx brow pencils is the terrible product quality. First of, the caps. They are slightly different in size, and by slightly, I mean that it is not very obviously different if you don't look carefully. I can't tell you the number of times I have accidentally put the caps the wrong way and squished the brow product, thus wasting some. It is so annoying!! Ain't nobody got time to put both caps together every time to compare sizes and check that they are putting the right one on!!

Secondly, the packaging quality itself is terrible because of the poor scrolling mechanism quality. It spoils really easily. I have 2 brow pencils that are unusable now because the scrolling mechanism broke. For one of them, I was scrolling everything up to see how much was left. Halfway through. the scrolling mechanism just suddenly broke!! I couldn't scroll up or down anymore so there was this huge chunk of pencil sticking out. I tried to push it in and that caused it to break of course. So that brow pencil is just unusable now. The other one just broke randomly by itself and I only realized when I was trying to scroll up for more product and it couldn't. So there went 2 pencils; wasted.

Nyx Ash Brown on left brow and Nyx Brunette on right brow.

BH Cosmetics HD Brow Pencil

The cheapest of the lot. On the BH cosmetics website it says it costs $8 originally, but right now it is $4. When I bought it last year, it was $4.50. I bought this when I was getting the Carli Bybel palette because I thought of just giving it a shot since it was so cheap. Out of all 4 of the brow pencils, BH has the driest formula. I have to press pretty hard to get the product onto my brows. You get what you pay for I guess. It has the least creamiest formula but I still can get use out of it anyway. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. Lasts on my brows all day. The 2 caps on either end have sizes different enough that you won't squish the brow pencil if you put it on wrong (read the nyx brow pencil part to understand what I mean).

Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Wiz

The super famous brow pencil that every person who uses makeup knows about. It's super expensive too. At $21, this pencil better damn well make my brows look freaking amazing. And it does. It's my favourite out of the 4, but I don't think I will purchase anymore, simply because it is to expensive for my broke ass. It has the perfect amount of creaminess that makes it such a breeze to draw on my brows. Nyx brow pencil comes closest to the ABH one compared to the others, but I feel like the ABH one is a touch creamier and easier to use. Color range of ABH is better too from what I heard. The color doesn't bother me though. I have really dark brows, thus as long as I use some dark brown color it will work. Also, the caps on both ends are the same size which I LOVE. I don't have to worry about putting it on the wrong end and squishing some product. This lasts all day on my brows as well.

BH Cosmetics Ebony on the left brow and Anastasia Beverly Hills Dark Brown on the right brow.

Final Verdict

I shall judge by 2 categories.
> means better than/over

1. If money is not an issue to you
ABH > NYX > Colourpop = BH
I think it is pretty obvious. ABH still has the best brow pencil to me and if you can afford it, I say go for it. You won't regret it.

2. If you are broke like me
NYX>Colourpop = BH
If you really can't afford 21USD for a damn brow pencil, I feel you. It is a ridiculous price to pay for brows. The next closest option would be the NYX ones. Just, BE CAREFUL when using it. Don't do anything stupid like what I did (scrolling all the way up), and chances are you would have a pleasant brow drawing experience. That is, until you accidentally put the cap on wrong. Hahaha. In all seriousness though, it would be nice if NYX could improve the quality of their packaging. They should just do what ABH does and make both caps the same size. That will simplify life and make me a happier person.

I do not recommend BH or Colourpop in either category simply because the others are much much better. I don't hate them but I'm not going to repurchase them either. Colourpop brow pencils are really quite hard to use because they are too creamy while the BH ones are not creamy enough

That's it! Hope I helped. Have a happy brow drawing life. xD

May Favourites

Hello!

So May is coming to an end and I thought, why not share some of the things I've been obsessed with this past month? Both beauty and non-beauty related. Enjoy!

Beauty Related

1. IT cosmetics bye bye pores powder
I bought this powder a few weeks ago from beautylish and I've been seriously loving it. Its quite pricey and a little messy (well, all loose powders are messy) to use, but I LOVE how good it makes my makeup look. My skin is severely oily and this powder helps a little with that. I do still oil up after a couple of hours, but what I love about this powder is that after I blot, my makeup still looks really good! With other powders, after blotting my oil off, my makeup tends to look really patchy and uneven. But after trying this powder, I didn't have that problem anymore! It reduces the look of my pores a little bit also. My pores are gigantic; nothing is going to make them invisible, but this powder helps a little. My makeup looks really smooth with it. I seriously love this powder!

2. Dose of Colors
Dose of colors isn't a new brand at all, but it is relatively new to me. I've wanted to try it for a long time but it's expensive. Especially the international shipping. So I held off buying it for a really long time, but I'm so glad I got them anyway. Pigmented, comfortable, lasts really long and smells soooo good. I really love DOC!

3. Bioderma Sensibio H2O

I really like this makeup remover. It feels like water but is able to take off my makeup really well. Doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky or anything like that. I still need to use a proper oil-based makeup remover for my mascara and eyelash glue though, but I guess that's because waterproof mascaras need oil to be removed and we all know how tough eyelash glue is to remove.

4. Braids
I've been obsessed with doing braids recently. It's mostly because I'm trying to grow out my fringe so my hair is really awkward looking right now. So i try to braid my hair whenever I go out to keep it away from my face. I've mostly been loving dutch braids. I personally think dutch braids look way nicer than french braids so I've been doing that mostly.

I've also been loving the fishtail braid.

I did this on my mom. I forgot to take a picture when I did it on myself.

Non-beauty related

Anime: Natsume Yuujinchou

For the past few weeks I've been so obsessed with this anime! I don't even remember how I managed to find it since it's not really famous but I love it so much! It has definitely made its way into the list of my top favourite animes  It is about this boy, Natsume, who can see youkai, which are like ghosts and monsters, that normal humans can't see. He befriends this fat cat who is a youkai and every episode is about them meeting and interacting with other yokai and humans. This anime has like 4 seasons already and I heard the 5th season is coming.

What I love most about this anime is how heart warming and touching the episodes are. I've teared up numerous times and this show just does things to my heart. And the cat. OMGGGG IT'S THE CUTEST THING EVER!! All he does is eat and make really funny remarks and always fights with natsume but it's hilarious. I just love those 2 together. If you haven't heard of it, go check it out! It's a really chill and laid-back anime which will make u smile and tear up. You'll love it :)

The OP and ED and OST for this anime are all really nice too. Been obsessively replaying them the past week. Haha!

Song: Pierrot by Senka feat. Hatsune Miku

I first heard a guitar cover of this song and I found it so beautiful so I searched for the original song. Watch the video, it tells such a beautiful but sad story. It made me cry so hard. Senka (the singer) is really amazing though. He is able to sing both male and female voice which is plain crazy to me. His female voice is really beautiful and his male voice is sexy too. How is it even possible for someone to be able to have such a huge vocal range?? He amazes me, but sadly he has ceased all activity under this name and has restarted with a new name.

That's all for now, but I hope I inspired you to try something new!

Love,
Mel

Circle lens review: Super Pinky Lenses

Hello!

I'm here for another circle lens review! This time it's from the brand Super Pinky.

I first tried super pink lenses when I was 20. I'm 22 now by the way. I have tried blue, green, wine red and lastly, violet from the Super Pinky brand. As usual, I bought them from Honey Color. Link: https://www.honeycolor.com/color-contact-lenses/popular-brands/super-pinky

For this review, I would be using the violet ones. I will also briefly talk about the other colors that I have tried and insert whatever pictures I can find. In general, I really like Super Pinky as you can probably tell from how many colors I've used already. Anyway, lets begin the review.

It comes in the typical glass vial as usual. Image taken from the honey color website.

It is 14.8mm in diameter and has 45% water content. Yearly wear.

This is how they look like in my case:

On one eye:

You can see how much bigger the lens is compared to me own iris size.

On both eyes:

With some eyeliner and falsies:

I'm using dolly wink lashes. Number 10 for the top lashes and number 14 for bottom lashes.

Full face:

I'm wearing nudestix in the shade belle in case you're wondering what's on my lips!

Design of lenses: 4/5
I really like the design of these. I think it's quite a natural design and looks really nice on the eyes.

Vividness: 4.5/5
Super Pinky lenses definitely show up very vividly! All of the colors I've tried already showed up really well. You can see for yourself in the pictures.

Eye enlargement: 5/5
These lenses are huge. They will make your eyes look huge. Plus because they are so vivid also, they will really make your eyes stand out.

Naturalness: 3.5/5
Violet is an unnatural color. Not gonna lie, when I first tried them on, I thought it looked weird on me. And because they make your eyes look so huge, eye makeup is kind of a must for these, otherwise it really looks weird. But once I got used to wearing violet, I no longer found it unnatural and sometimes all I do is curl my lashes when I have no time for makeup. I grew to really love having violet eyes. Blue is also really intense and not very natural but they also grew on me. Green was very natural and pretty on me. Wine red is unnatural of course but really unique; I loved it too.

Comfort: 4/5
Here is where the colors I've tried kind of defer. I found blue, green and violet to be comfortable. However, to me, Super Pinky lenses require getting used to. When I first started to wear a fresh pair, they can get uncomfortable after around 6 hours. But I feel like the more I wear them, the more comfortable they become. I can wear them for more than 12 hours once my eyes are used to them. Like I said before, I wear a pair of lenses at a time, so the current pair is worn daily. They only start to get uncomfortable after the usual 3 month mark and I threw out my violet ones after about 3 and half months of wear.

The only uncomfortable one for me was wine red, but I think I got a bad batch. The first time I wore them they were fine. But subsequently, whenever I tried to wear them again, the left lens would hurt my eye like crazy and I can't even have them on for more than 5 seconds. It hurts so much that I have to take them off immediately. It could be just a bad batch because the right side as completely fine. It was a shame though. Wine red was such an interesting color and I only got to wear it for 1 day. I did take pics though!

To sum up, Super Pinky is one of my favourite circle lens brands and I've already repurchased green and blue but haven't worn them yet. I also bought hazel and maybe I'll do a separate review for it when I get to it. Maybe I'll give wine red a chance again someday? And also try out grey! I really recommend this brand.

So now for the pictures! Bear in mind that these are pictures I dug out from the past few years so I was younger and didn't have much makeup on for some of the pictures. It's like a flashback of my past 3 years while looking through my pictures. Haha. I had fun looking through my old pictures for these. If you're wondering who that guy is in some of my pictures, he's my boyfriend. Enjoy!

Violet:

Green:
These were all taken in Gold Coast, Australia!

Blue:

Wine Red:

Woah that's a lot of digging through old photos, but I hope I helped you to decide whether you want to get these lenses!

Love,
Mel
